End of Summer Roadtrip
We went on vacation this summer. We ended up in southern Utah and visited family in Vegas along the way. Although what I wisely heard on the internet, a trip is with children, a vacation is without them. Our kids were champs. We still have a relaxing vacation, thanks to Jason's awesome driving and my awesome baby shh...ing techniques, Ivy was a champ. Yo, so guess what, she rides perfectly fine as long as her mom is next to making googly faces and cooing at her!
Here is a snapshot of Hurricane, Utah. Boo hoo that we didn't get to see the Kirbys, we were real bummed to be so close to their house but we made sure to stand on their front porch and send them a picture of ourselves, cause I know they really wanted one.
Also noteworthy were the polygamist families I saw at Walmart. There was a bunch of them and looks like nobody has told them its 2011. Seriously a time warp and kinda freaky. My sister in law Cori was having me bust a gut that we should have asked them if they needed help and wanted to escape. With those dresses and hair dos, oh my goodness they can't be very happy even without the old man husband. Why or why didn't I get a picture!
Talk about a small world, we went to our favorite eating spot in St. George with the thick shakes and fry sauce Utah is famous for and we ran into Jason's brother and family who we were coming to see! No planning, now is that strong family ties or what? I was freaking out running into them.
One thing we love about Utah is that every mountain or hill has an initial on it. Fun for the kids to spot them.
p.s. the best shake flavor is banana in case you are wondering.
