Luke is 8 (and playing Baseball)
Happy Birthday to our 8 year old Luke! The baseball player! He plays for the Minnesota Twins. Here's his team at the end of the game congratulating themselves on their 7 -1 win. (actually they are giving a cheer for the other team before they go shake hands)
And here's what my girls did during the game. Color. And climb the fences. Heaven help me for the week day games when Jason can't come. Should be an adventure!
Luke had so much fun, although he was walked to base every time, HE GOT TO PITCH in the first game. Two innings. Luke told me his coach told him he was gonna pitch and I was like 'What?" maybe we should have practiced, but it was a nutso week so he just did it and was great. One strikeout and a double play where he caught the fly and threw it to first. He only hit one player :) (but between both teams, about 5 kids got hit by the pitcher, and some of them looked like they really hurt).
Seriously, Luke said it was the most fun ever and he couldn't wait to tell his Uncle Brandon who told him to try out (which he didn't and had no desire to, but just happened to qualify during practice)....now he is sold on pitching!
Happy Birthday Luke, tons more pictures of our fun birthday weekend to come. We are so glad to have you as our son, you rock. We got in about 2:30 a.m. last nite from Vegas so its been a slow morning, now Luke is watching Harry Potter 2 that he got for his birthday (a request) and we have In and Out on the menu today.
