Yesterday vs. Today

Yesterday. Totally productive. Weirdly productive. Like I'm a rockstar productive. Ate very healthy (minus 10 toostie rolls and popcorn, but I'm not counting that do you?). Had fun family home evening. Stayed generally happy. Talked to a good friend on the phone. Watched Gin and Sun die tragically on Lost....the best season and show ever! I cried. (hmmm....more than Alias? I did love Alias) while curled up to Jason and his dang delicious buttery popcorn. Almost finished reading the Blind Side which I am really liking (better than the movie in my opinion, and now I feel all smart that I know football stuff). House a mess but I don't care since I crossed so much off my list of to-dos. Talked and got to see my husband tons which is not always a daily thing in our busy life. Paisley slept great.

Today. woke up to neighbors car alarm. Broke in sweat as I tried to sign up my kids for rec center swim lessons at 8 a.m. exactly...it was stressful. Cranky children who hit their friends (okay so only one child does this right now) who are playing at our house. House a mess, why won't it clean itself. Finding pincher bugs crawling every where I look...even in my dirty laundry pile. Did dent into the dirty laundry pile except now have huge enormous pile to fold and put away (the worst part). Starting eating Salsa Sun Chips in the biodegradable and noisy packaging by 10 a.m. and the tootsie rolls came next. Finally excepted that the universal law says you can't have two really productive and good healthy eating days in a row (at least this lady can't) so I just console myself with more chips. Went to the park with friends...had an awesome trip to Costco where the eye doc lady told me in the Costco bathroom that she is finally pregnant for the first time and we chatted together while Baylie ripped off about 20 paper towels out of the mechanical dispenser. Not very green but cute encounter. We had bonded over our respective diseases and similar ages and I secretly think we should hang out although why can't have more makeup on or wear cuter clothes when I see her? Finally purchased the mini brownies at costco that had previously talked myself out of, but stayed on my list and beefed up my food storage (canned goods anyone? Have you been watching the news, the weather is craaazy!). no one ran away and I felt like a mother duck with her little ducklings following behind her. Kids ate costco hotdogs and I let them each fill their own drinks which they loved. spilled darby's drink all over food while loading it into car but chose to not be ticked about it and instead focus what a smart person i am to have papertowels in the car even if they don't get rid of the sticky that is every where that I choose not to care about. bypassed homework, cut up watermelon and let Darby pick a movie (charlie and the chocolate factory, tim burton style) for being the most wonderful helper for sitting next to her baby sister in the car always and cooing and feeding her everyday. the house is still going to stay messy and I may or may not get to folding my laundry, but if I do it will definitely be while watching tv. and now that I'm remember it I did work out at the crack of dawn. While exercising listened to conference talks and really like this one (on preserving a changed heart) and this one (on good deeds and made me realize are so many other ways to serve than bringing dinner which is good because I no longer cook dinner).

I wonder what tomorrow will bring...

Ugh! You totally just ruined Lost for me. You need to have a spoiler alert or something!!! I haven't watched the last 2 episodes and now I know Jin and Sun (my fav story line DIE).

Way to have a positive attitude! My day was actually a lot like yours--costco, cut watermelon, found bugs next to laundry. Oh what fun. Sadie spilled grape juice everywhere. etc. Very good documentary and the swim lessons sound fun!

lol, I know what you mean yesterday I cleaned the WHOLE house was feeling pretty good about myself until about 9pm when adam came out of his room complaining about an ear ache then it was bad from there on out. he was up all night. Doctor in the A.m. whining whining whining (but for good reason) finally got the kids all in bed and am now trying to figure out how to get Adam and Kevin's prescriptions (and Kevin has one too, but no one knew it, yay!!) so glad the doctor caught that I wasn't back at the doctor tomorrow. and then I have to pick B up at work so really this day is a bust, nothing accomplished that was on my list from previous days...so I feel ya!!

Oh no! I'm like your friend Jackie. I'm 2 episodes behind on Lost because I just haven't had time to watch them and now I know they die. Suck. I loved that couple on Lost.

I've been having a bad year. Does that count? By the way, that contact you gave me, John Ngyen (or however you spell his last name) basically helped Dan get an interview. He has a job now. He's been working since beginning of April and this ends in July, so he continues to work. But just wanted to say thanks for the connection! It helped!
