The Cold is Upon Us

I think I'm going to have to hide my kids summer clothes...because that Baylie girl will always choose a spaghetti strap sundress to swoop over her head and no shoes than any winter garb even if it means her little legs are cold as ice when I feel them. Even me, I don't know how to dress in the cold either. We are a bunch of shoe-less California hippies who just got their first really cold day. I swear it was like 65...or 55...one of the two, but it was cold I tell you.

Better break out the hot chocolate. And hide the flip flops...

Any ideas for how I can entice my two year old to keep her shoes on? Maybe if I get really cute easy to put on boots? Wait! Fake uggs, where can I get fake uggs? Thats what I need. Do they come in pink?

I've made two soup recipes this month from http://mykitchencafe.blogspot.com/. The third time I've made them. The broccoli and cheese and then the chicken corn chowder with sweet potatoes (you don't even realize their sweet potatoes so don't let that scare you off). And I used her bread bowl recipes. although one is less time consuming than the other be warned.

Just waiting for Darby to get back from her date with Jason. I found out that they like when the rest of the kids are asleep when they get back. They think that part is really cool to come home to and makes them feel like it was longer than the 30 -45 minutes or so they were gone. So I rushed everyone else to bed and now I'm just waiting. I love the weekends.

i am laughing over here. i am drinking my first hot chocolate (QT) of the winter, it just got cold today i swear. ANNNNNNNNND, last night I made that same soup but i added potatoes. my kids were shocked because i never cook. OH and my inlaws are always shocked to see me wearing sandals in the winter.
uggs would be fun.

pink fake uggs for girls are at target (I'm pretty sure . . . wait, let me go check and I'll let you know tomorrow). Oh and you had me craving soup so I had clam chowder in a bread bowl on Wed.

I got fake pink Uggs for Audrey at Target too. I'd say, though, that maybe you should let Baylie pick out her shoes (given the rules - no sandals, flip flops). Then maybe she'd be more excited to wear them ???

cold? ha! you don't know cold do you? i know cold. he is starting to sneak around here in Utah. It's ok I guess. Helps me feel like the holidays are near. I didn't feel like the holidays were quite real when we lived in CA because the weather was always the same in Monterey. boots are awesome for kids in the winter. my tristan wears his nearly everyday to school. his are chunky cowboy boots.

I laugh when you say cold. It started snowing this morning. Remember when you visited us here. 6 degrees going to church. I did see pink boots at Target too. Payton has the brown ones.

Fancy soups. Sound so delicious. Just go get a key to our bin and you can get all our winter clothes there & shoes! Seriously, do it with Jason one day. This is definitely the first time where I will be wearing flip flops or "slippers" as they say over here all year long.
