5 more days

This week is going to be exciting. Turns out Jason the Optimist might be right. But more on that later....

On Thursday we'll learn more about the future dynamic of our family. Will Luke be the lone boy among princess dresses and rowdy sisters? Or will he be the luckiest boy alive and have the brother he has been wishing for. Hmmmm....

One of the many conversations on the subject of the new baby....

Me - "Luke you know if you have another sister she will be so cute and you will really love her"

Luke - "Yes. But if its a boy it will be FREAKING AWESOME!"

Here is the bet Luke proposed with Darby. If the baby is a girl, Darby gets quarter from him. If the baby is a boy, Darby gives Luke a dime.

Interesting. So with that on my mind and a renewed conviction to wake up before my kids to workout and read scriptures....here are some quotes on motherhood...

(And just so you know, us Mormons think of all women as mothers, with the potential that is within us and the responsibility we share)

A mother is not a person to lean on
but a person to make leaning unnecessary.

- Dorothy Canfield Fisher

The walks and talks
we have with our two-year-olds in red boots
have a great deal to do with the values they will cherish as adults. - Edith F. Hunter

You give up yourself,
and finally you don't even mind.
I wouldn't have missed this for anything.
It humbled my ego and stretched my soul.
It gave me whatever crumbs of wisdom
I possess today.
- Erica Jong

Before
becoming a mother
I had a hundred theories on how to bring up children.
Now I have seven children and only one theory:
Love them,
especially when they least deserved to be loved.
- Kate Samperi

The only time a woman wishes she were
a year older is when she is expecting a baby

- Mary Marsh

I never feel so good as when I'm pregnant.
Its the only time a woman can sit still,

do nothing at all, and be beautifully productive.
- Maria Riva

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters
of life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,
and though they are with you,
yet they belong not to you.
Kahil Gibran

Part of the good part of being a parent

is a constant sense of deja vu.
But some of what you have to vu
you never want to vu again.
- Anna Quindlen

I want to hear about Jason the optimist. Does that mean you see a house in your very near future? And the bigger question. Is it close to me???

Oh, I know it doesn't matter either way, but I'm kinda hoping Luke gets a brother. :) IF not, he will be the BEST big brother to three sisters EVER! I always wanted a big brother. See you tonight I believe!
