Summer Stats

Dear Sears, I love you.  I have only previously used you for infant portraits from days of yore but wow now I am sold on you.

Sch….I mean the S-word shopping for the brood is pretty intimating.  I mostly stick to shoes and then top off the older ones who don't get hand me downs.  Well really I just do shoes and hope the other ones are good and then end up buying stuff a month after school starts realizing there some wardrobes holes…but anyway…shoes are freaking expensive.  and we had to get a lot of them.  Plus church shoes for some.

I said a prayer that I would be able to know where to go and get it done quickly and within our budget and was super nervous.  Grocery shopping kids, fine for me….clothes or mall shopping is the opposite of fun for me.

So back to Sears….

Haven't been there in about a million years.  Debated between Kohls.

Result:  8 pairs of shoes for $104!!

Sizes 8, 3, 1, 13, 11 and 9.  Got everything I needed except Darby church shoes that we later found at target.  It was a bit chaotic but we did it (iPad and heeleys helped)  Wahoooo!

I couldn't believe it.  And then we went and rode the merry go round and had pink berry, both treats that we survived.

Other stats include 5 family members (Marschell and Pauls crew) who just left our house after a few days.

Had our final summer beach trip.   Vowed to go to a bunch of different beaches, never did.  Just stuck to Zuma and one time to Huntington.  Next year I'm gonna try out Ventura again.

and all those fandangled chore charts and wishful dreams?  ya they pretty much didn't work although we did try and do some service and read some family history.

Note to self:  next summer I'm going to stick to just teaching helping without being asked…cough cough.  And have a morning checklist (no I should not have to tell you to brush your teeth every day of your life!)

Tomorrow we are off for a very fast trip to see family and get home the night before school starts!  yikes, sure to be nuts but glad we are doing it.

Movies we saw this summer:  Smurfs 2, Legends of the Guardians, Eragon, Stellaluna, Witches, Mirror Mirror, Dog Gone, My Fair Lady, Hoosiers, Where the Red Fern Grows, Earth to Earth, Malificent…thats all I can think of now.

The girls just came in the room chanting Lukey Poochie and Luke just said, mom there is gonna be some dead girls on the floor…so probably should end this now.

I can't stand to take my kids shopping. I usually buy stuff bring it home and just return if it doesn't fit or if they must come try things on I only take one or two at a time. It's a win win because the kids hate shopping too. :)
