Miss Darby is 7

Darby has been sooo excited for her birthday.  So much that this girl who is normally hard to drag out of her bed for school, was dressed and ready by 6 AM!  I couldn't believe it.

Darby requested lemon cupcakes for her school class.  And what did she want?  Coloring.  Lots and lots of coloring.  And some real scriptures with her name on it.

Darby's birthday was the same day as open house so it was fun to get to see her classroom and learn what she has been doing there...more coloring there too!

Darby is my daughter with my same hair color and same hair color, the only one til Ivy came along.  We are in the brown hair, brown eyes club.  We had so much fun on our shopping date, Darby just wished it lasted longer and I did too.  But she spent her birthday money and came home with lots of great stuff (more art supplies and a kitty purse).

We have a new tradition to skype with Nana while the kids are opening the presents she sent and its so fun, and full of chaos because EVERYONE wanted to help Darby open her presents (Luke was sleepy on the cozy couch).  Baylie was sad that her birthday was already passed and she was seeing green!

It was so cute to see how much Darby loved her scriptures and hymnal.  She has been toting them around wherever we go, sweet girl.  On this all about Darby poster in her classroom she wrote that her heroes were God and her family.  God because He gave her gave her a wonderful life, melted my heart.

Darby also got some heels from Nana!  Loved the Heels!

Grandpa sent the best email and wore the hat Darby made for him on her birthday.  She loved it and I was really tempted to put this picture on facebook and also tempted to make it my new profile picture cause its so awesome.  We get awesome pictures from this from my dad every once in a while...he is a pretty fun grandpa.
Stuck the candles in the cookies she wanted at Target.   Paisley blew out the candles first and we had to relight them.  She was really intent on her birthday wish but wanted to keep it a secret (but then she later told me she always wishes that Dallas won't be allergic to cats so she can get one!...ahahhaha, oh man, but we love Dallas more than a cat).

Its been an exciting 48 hours to say the least.  Life is an adventure.  Prayer works, miracles happen everyday, the Lords hand is in all of our lives.  We are so grateful for our children, and especially Darby and her seventh birthday. (here's where I don't say that she got a pink slip the day before).

Other funny Darby quote, so she had a report due and so I didn't realize she had homework too til on her birthday,  I had her do a little bit (on her new easel) but we decided we are going to not be able to turn it in.  So Friday, since she didn't turn it in she had to stay in for recess and when I said, 'oh how sad, sorry,"  She said, "I don't care it was fun."  She finished a project and helped her teacher in the classroom.
