1st Day of School

Self- Portrait of my kindergarten on the first day of school.

Ready to go meet his teacher on the playground. And to count how many boys are in the class. Preschool there were 5, we are hoping for 8-10.

The lucky woman who will have my son for 6 hours a day. Boy I wish we had half day.
She seems very nice, we like her already. (this photo is mostly for my mom who would be the only other person to care who Luke's teacher is)

Shot from the porch, I promised him this is the one day of year (besides halloween) that I take pictures before school or at school.

Another view. this day is momentous.

Wow, did Darby and I have a day together or what. Baylie too, but she took a 2 hour nap in the middle. It was so strange. The house was so quiet. Darby played in peace and with me.
We went to the park, and although we were planning on having 'school' at home, she wasn't having any of that.

So now its just me and the girls during the day. Totally different vibe.

Don't worry she wasn't like this most the day, but her favorite person was missing. And she did learn to climb up to the top of Luke's bunk bed by herself, so that was a feat.

Total boy class count including Luke = 6
at least its better than last year

Wow! Congrats to Luke. Kindergarten is a big deal and I totally know what you mean about the vibe being different with all girls. It was just Abby and I the other morning and it was weird. Nice, but different. I think we both missed Oliver much more than he missed us ;)

Cute pics. I love that Luke is a kindergarten. I think 6 hours is great because they can actually learn something. On Friday Kennadi goes to school from 11:35 to 1:15...what are you going to learn in that amount of time. It is weird though when you have less kids at home. Preslie has had a hard adjustment. You know you are getting old when you have a kindergarten...welcome to the club of school moms. I hope you are going to be room mom:-) Only six boys sounds like that was a teacher sanity request! Love the pics. Keep them coming!

Luke looks so handsome and old! What an exciting day. The teacher looks nice. Loved the pics of the day. Can't believe Baylie can climb to the top bunk - she must have missed Luke. Give them all hugs and kisses from us. xoxonanaandgrandpa

Wow. I cannot imagine having a kid in kindergarten. Does it feel strange? Yeah. I bet it's a totally different vibe at home. Congrats to Luke! He didn't look nervous at all!

There are only 6 boys in Jackson's class, so we feel Luke's pain.

So fun. I can't believe Luke started school. What a big boy! Seriously, that is crazy. It doesn't seem that long ago he was spitting up on me. :) And, I am very impressed that Baylie can get to the top of the bunk. Scary. Especially since my one and half year old has a cast on her arm.

trust me, if it were half day kindergarten you would be wishing it were full day in no time. they grow so fast. it seems like yesterday tiff had her first day of kindergarten and now this is her last year of elementary school (scary!)

I personally love half day kindergarten, but I do think it depends on the kid. It's perfect for Ashlyn.

Come move up here. Ashlyn only has 8 girls in her class and the rest boys. Luke would be in heaven.
