Beach Camping in Pictures

This is a boy in bliss. Pure bliss. Riding his bike around our campsite in a million circles. Just in heaven.

Finally my fuji disposable camera pictures are developed. Holy moly I can't believe we used to have to take it to a store and they mailed it out. Crazy. But at least I have something. beggers can't be choosy. one day i'm going to do a whole post in cliche' cause sometimes nothing says it better than a cliche'...

This girl just kills me. last month she was running me ragged, but now we have a better understanding and she is killing me with that smile. We are in love. The boy on the right might be known as chip-man. Or how much tv-can-i-watch-and-whine-when-my-mom-turns-it-off man. i hope you all have one of those at home.

Here are some of the tide pool area. isn't nature pretty?

inside the tent. what is on her face? might be the poor camera. thats my girl. (I'm loving Darby too so don't worry, but this one's personality just doubled in a month I swear). thats my childhood comforter that i stole from my mom.

sand balls on the beach. thank you nine year old who played with my darby. she loves you. (savanna (sp?) gann for the rest of you...in sherman oaks now).

if i was a filmmaker and wanted to show some 80s pictures on the mantle i would go get a fuji disposable camera and then send away to have them developed. cause you get beauties like these in your roll. and your can't really figure out what you are taking a picture of, you just aim and shoot and hope you got your family in the shot.

Luke and Owen. A moment of silence for our dear friends who abandoned us for Burbank. As much as we are happy for them and newly unemployment (read: quit apt. managing), we are still feeling sorrow for ourselves in encino without you. Especially when Jason is working late this week and I miss eating dinner with you guys. I lost two friends (one lived down the street) in the same weekend to burbank. i spew on you burbank...just kidding I want to live there too someday...or santa clarita just for you amber.

if you can imagine that this picture just doesn't capture the nastiness that was baylie during camping. imagine her rolling in that dirt and then crawling and going in and out of the tent and then me bringing only two pairs of pjs when i should have brought 3 so she had to reused the filthy filthy ones again. shivers....

Here's my crew at our eating nook. My pimp van in the background. more pictures to come cause they are all i got for a while. at least fuji let me get a cd with their mail away pics. don't look that b got a bag of chips too...i mean, she never does that, never ;)

I will end with my favorite story about my new friend Shay. So first day on the beach, just arrived and setup my tent. There is a kayak people are using. We meet each other, bla bla small talk, than she says, do you want to ride the kayak (or something like that) and I say, yes, but I haven't done it for a couple years. She says ' we'll figure it out' so we jump out and grab the kayak and see these two tiny lifejackets that the cute means have been wearing (6 barbies remember?). So we put ours on and we can't believe. my bazooms have never been so squashed. okay, so then we see a kids one. shay says, lets have darby go. so we put it on darby, first wave, TIP KAYAK, darby's freaking out, take her back. So we put the kids one of Shay's daughter whose 5. TIP KAYAK , she's freaking out. so then we abandon kids and go out ourselves but we are having trouble squeeze our butts in the seats and its hurting and we can't get in, but finally we do and we pass the waves are in smooth waters. i'm like, holy crap you are adventurous to my new friend. And she says she was a rec management major in college and that she made a blanket out of duct tape for her final. And then tells me what camping really is and i don't know if i ever want to do it. and then we find out its a 1 person kayak! maybe that why there's only one paddle-thingy. no wonder. but we went out pretty far, i love kayaking on the ocean and its great and smooth. but we have to go in cause never one of us can breath due to the tiny vests and our smooshed insides. end of story. cool chick though, with super cute girls names and she even loves elliot for a girl which i love love love.

You seriously went camping with just you and no Jason???? You are brave!! I am impressed! And by the way, I don't know where this Elliot for a girl thing came from, but my best friend was just telling me recently that she wants to name her first daughter Elliot. I love it . . . just in case you were thinking of using it if you have another girl.

A little dirt never hurt anyone! Most kids eat it at some point in their lives. Christy bought Cory a kayak for Christmas one year. They were coming down here, so she had it shipped to our house. Then they had to drive with it stuffed in the van(full sized, not mini) all the way back to Maryland. It was funny.

Love the pics! Good for you taking all the kids camping on your own! I don't know if I would have the courage or stamina to do it! Have fun on your next adventure to the other side of the States!

Yay for Santa Clarita. It's pretty close to Burbank. You could have the best of both worlds with the added bonus of family friendliness and PLENTY of room to park your minivan. You could even get those flames on the side like you've been talking about. You'd be SUPER cool!
Hilarious story about the kayak with Shay. So totally sounds like her. She is ONE adventurous girl!

That looks like so much fun. Dirt, sand, tents, I'll take it all in a heart beat! And I love the name Elliot for a girl.
