I made me some quiche

Do you want some quiche?

This was a first for me.

Homemade crusts and all. (Thank you Paul)

Bacon, ham, mushrooms, onions, spinach, three cheeses, yum- 0 (quick, name that chef!) And cause I'm a dork I tried two different crust recipes to see which one I liked better. I don't have a picture cause my camera is officially deceased, but it sure is pretty. I don't have a cell phone anymore either so I can't call you. (B dumped my hot pink cell in the kiddy pool in my backyard.) Call Jason and tell him. I have a whole one left that we'll have to eat, so tell me if you want a slice. I almost took one to this girl who just had a baby, but I got nervous bringing something I've never made before. I have a bad habit of experimenting on other people. And my neighbors are getting sick of my cooking.

It was a big pain in the butt to make, especially with Miss B clawing on my leg (I planned on her napping while I was prepping)...so I'm glad it was good. Passed the kid test. They are my toughest critics due to there highly refined taste buds.

Here is the Recipe
(mine was prettier than his...and I used fresh parsley...hooray, finally a stupid dinner success worth the effort...sound the bells!)

Quiche sounds so good. I use Pillsbury's refrigerated pie crust. They come rolled up in a box next to the canned biscuits at Wal-Mart. They probably aren't as good as home-made, but they are soo much better than those frozen ones in the aluminum pie pans. I use to have a problem with the edges of the crust burning before it was done. I found a pie crust shield thing that keeps that from happening. Quiche is much better without burnt crust.

I love quiche. I think it is so yummy...especially when you put a lot of fun things in it like ham and mushrooms and green onions and bacon. You are definitely making me want to go make some myself. Maybe CJ is wanting some too.

I actually just read your blog today, but didn't have time to leave a comment. Now that my kids are glued to the TV, we're good. We live in Pleasant Grove--like 5 minutes from Jana. We love it! Our kids get to play and we get to play--it's the best. I have to say that I'm way jealous of you living in California. Everytime I visit my fam I just want to stay and soak up the sun. You have a very beatiful family--your kids are seem spunky just like their mom.

You make me laugh. I love that you tried two crusts. It seems totally logical to me...then you test them at the same time. Ship me some! I love that Erica left a comment. Erica...if you read this, it is so fun that you live by Jana and that your kids play. I want to see a pic of your family.

Thanks for the recipe! I am going to make it tomorrow night! Always looking for new things to cook....especially with a picky son and husband!

I'll attest to the yummy quiche, I'm usually as bad as the kids when it comes to pickiness (not really), and when Brooke told me she was making quiche I was like, okaaay. Sounds great! But it was great! Way to go Brooke! I had it for lunch leftovers today. It had just the right amounts of everything, in small, almost-not-even-there amounts.
