So at 4 today I fly to Utah to visit my parents who are flying there. My mom's birthday is Saturday and we are going to ski. I hope my body holds up. I hope I stay warm. Cause I've been freezing in 60 degree weather here. I am bringing B and Jason is staying home with the bigger kids and partying hard all week. I suspect they will not see a fruit or vegetable for sure.
Funny LA story: So Luke was singing a song at home and I said, hey did you learn that at school? He said yes, and then I said...Hey, is that Farsi? He said yes. I love that my almost five year old is singing farsi, which half the class the speaks and he also learned a spanish song, which is what the other half of the class speaks. Add some Russian and Hebrew and there you have the dynamic of our neighborhood.
The best part is about six years ago I became friends with a guy who was Persian (who happened to be Mormon and ), I asked him if he was from Peru.... He died laughing and I was quite embarrassed. Yeah, so my kids are already much more cultivated then I was. (The answer is no, Persians are not from Peru if you are wondering).

Farsi...hmmm, I think your kid is far more cultured than our entire town. I forgot all about the Peru/Persian comment. That was a funny day...is he still doing comedy?

That's a funny story. And I think my most favorite thing about living in cities is the different cultures and people that you meet. I always miss my old Greek neighborhood I lived in in NYC. And Encino was cool like that, too. Now I just live around a lot of industry crazy people.... I guess that's a culture too though.

Kudos to you for recognizing that he was singing in Farsi. I wouldn't have a clue what Farsi sounds like. I know you'll have fun with your Mom and Dad. They are always a blast.

i had a teacher at byu from iran. that's the first i had heard of farsi. she was awesome. we went to idaho this weekend. hope you had fun skiing.
