It Could Always Be Worse

My dad always says this. That and stop and smell the roses. I used to think it was pessimistic, but now in my wise old 28 3/4 years I realize it is not.

It could always be worse. He told me that tonite when I called to check in on their house and they had 18 commercial fans blowing and are having all the floors ripped up due to water damage. So sad. Their house is a wreck.

So, in honor of it could always be worse....today I didn't have to go to an long boring apartment manager meeting today that my friends had to go to. Here is a photo of a shower that someone left when they vacated their apartment years ago. (Disclaimer: apt managing was awesome relief for the time and saved our hide and was a major answer to prayer at the time, but I'm glad its over) That is how we bought our pimp gray van that I'm going to put flames on.

Hats off to my many apartment managing friends still out there. It is necessity for the many stay at home moms out there. So be glad your shower doesn't look like this. Or be glad that you clean it the most minimal possible and it still won't look like this.

So who cares if I have to pinch my pennies way more not apt. managing, today, I am glad. And for the few of us who no longer have to do it, pause for a moment of silence of gratitude.

And I'm glad UPS finally delivered my shots at 6 p.m. that should have arrived before noon that I waited all day for...cause it could always be worse.

I guess I'm still in the "very grateful for my apartment manager job" mindset. Blessings WAY out number the amount of annoying meetings I have to go to :) Thanks to Brooke for getting us the job. Saves our butt everyday (especially during strikes!). Hey I have THE BEST butternut squash soup recipes that has very few ingredients, is way easy and yummy. You should try. We need a play date soon!

give your mom my love. that totally stinks. i hate it when i hear loved ones have problems like that. especially when we live far away. completley feeling helpless.

What on earth could a person be doing in a shower to get it to look like that? How many years of grime must that be?! I recently had a tenant move out who left his place FULL of garbage. It looked as thought in the seven years he lived there he never walked his garbage to the trash chute. Rather, he threw it in the corner which grew into throwing it into the middle of the room. Oh yeah, he filled up two balconies with garbage too. How do people live like that?

That is one nasty picture. It's hard to believe someone would get in there and take a shower. I feel sorry for the person who had to clean it.

I like that saying. I too am VERY glad I am not apartment managing anymore. I do not do well dealing with whiny, annoying tenants. And Matt always has some really good pictures that he brings home from walking units. Once he brought a pic of a 2 bedroom apartment that had like 10 people living it it that was infested with cockroaches. I am not kidding...there were hundreds everywhere.

I got a really good Polynesian Meatball recipe from the Friend once. This soup sounds good. I just might need to try it out. I'm always looking for good soup recipes. Especially in the Fall.

That is disgusting!! Yuck! The grossest I have seen. Glad you got your meds finally--can't believe at 6--that is crazy. Are you going to get your money back--why can't they just do it right. Isn't it stressful enough. And I can't imagine Mom & Dads stress--it stinks to live in a place that is being worked on!
