Thank goodness for zucchini

Cause really its the easiest thing to grow. These were giant ones that must have missed our lurking eye for a while cause we have been picking them much smaller. My tomatoes will not turn red dang it! And we've gotten like two ears of corn.

I'm on a mission for books. Asked about ones for Luke on facebook (thank you facebook for being so handy like that, I got a great response that I want to compile). Darby needs some too.

Luke is such a great reader, and been trying to figure out how to do that again. and again. and again. and again. A big part is just getting fun books. A mom told me her boys were reading Calvin and Hobbs comics and Luke is really liking the big book of them I got.

But back to Darby...... So I found these Ivy and Bean books! I love having things with the kids name on it. The characters are seven year old girls and its a series. How darling do they look? Especially since we have a new sister named Ivy. We just started reading them today. Darby really wants to read them by herself but since its a little above her reading level, she reads one side of the page and Jason or I read the other side to her, just to keep the pace up.

And speaking of Ivy, here she is rocking out. The girl slept from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the morning. Thank you baby girl, I needed it.

Those books look cute. I'll have to see if Ashlyn likes them. She LOVES the Rainbow Magic Series. There are tons of them. We checked out a bunch from the library and Ashlyn read through them in no time.Might be a bit old for Darby, but not much. They are pretty easy reads.

Don't water your tomatoes for a while, and they will freak out and all turn red. :) Sounds weird, but it's some kind of reaction that they have thinking they might die. Ha! Then give 'em a little water again so that they don't actually bite the bullet.

I've been on the hunt for Kate since she's read every Junie B book over and over and isn't ito the typical girlie books about fairies etc. A few suggestions I got were The Boxcar Children, Geronimo Stilton and Animal Ark. Roahl Dahl is also good, some of the shorter ones are good for Darby's age, The Giraffe the Pelly and me, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Magic Finger. Also Kate likes some shorter books too like the Berentasin Bears, Arthur etc I think she likes the shorter read as well as the chapter books. Mercy Watson is cute too. There is also a series called Dragon Slayers Academy that I think I may put on hold at the library for Kate.

Oh and my latest accomplishment using zucchini (yours look awesome BTW I'm growing some next year for sure) was curry pizza, may sound gross but homemade pizza, sub the tomato sauce for curry sauce, for veggies I used zucchini, red onion and mushroom, some chicken I had on hand, a light sprinkling of mozzarella and yum, yum. Eric loved it too I think it may make a regular apperance in our house along with a BBQ ckn or pepperoni one for the girls.
