How I'm feeling...

No baby girl has arrived. Today was not a good day. I was planning on getting induced tomorrow (bags in car just in case he wanted to keep me there), but I am not close to having a baby.

What is happening? I have no idea. Maybe she is rethinking this whole Brooke McCoy will be my mama thing, but I think I might be pregnant much longer. For those labor terms I am still very high and not ready.

So don't ask, I will let you know or maybe you will here my shouts for joy from your house. Cause I pretty much told everyone (cause the doc told me) that I was getting induced tomorrow, and now how to retract. I am not in charge, my kids are waiting for their sister. Jason has been very busy at work so is probably secretly glad, but I was the girl with early contractions who is now feeling forever pregnant.

Just for the record, I've probably consumed 170 tums, give or take ten either way.

Have a very limited wardrobe left all including elastic waistbands.

Food is no longer appealing except for the short list including bologna sandwiches with miracle whip and potato chips smashed inside on white bread (maybe she loves this healthy diet) and consoling myself with my mom's hot fudge.

Also feel bad that my mom is here for now a while where she hasn't been home for months and only had a one week with my dad in between Courtney's trip and mine.

But what can I do? Apparently nothing. Walking my hills hasn't helped and I am not new to all the various ways to induce babies...no thank you castor oil (been there, done that). I am crabby and just going to try and keep myself as busy as possible for the next few days.

Next appointment is Friday so we will access then.

Also for record, here are my birthing stats.

Luke, born on due date at 7 lbs 6 oz

Darby, born day before due date at 7 lbs 10 oz

Baylie, born 9 days before due date at 6 lbs 14 oz (but need to verify weight)

Paisley, born 13 days before due date at 7 lbs something, even more recent can't remember, does someone want to check my blog in Sept 2009 and let me know?

Baby #5 .....now 8 days before due date, but the pregnancy I've had the most trouble with has decided she wants to cook longer.

My labors and recovery have all been pretty much the same, but progressively easier each baby (although I wish I would've gotten my epidural sooner with P, cause I was a 6).

I've never had a scheduled induction. At this point, little baby just has to descend so I don't have to have a c-section. Wouldn't that throw me for a loop? Come on baby, drop.

I know you are feeling miserable, but I induced Gentry too early (my other two girls were induced a week after my due date and gentry was induced one day after my due date) and it made a huge difference with my labors. Gentry's was a lot harder and longer (even though she was #4) than the others and I kind of wish i would have waited but Than was going to china so what can you do!?!? Hang in there. go eat lots of ice cream.

Praying for you that little gal will drop soon. I am excited about seeing her picture and hearing her name. Enjoy your Mom time and know that she is probably loving spending time with her grandchildren and her favorite daughter :)

Oh, my heart breaks for you (and yes, here's to praying for no c section). Hang in there.

Oh man Brooke, I feel your pain. I was mentally prepared to go early considering the others were early. That's so not a good way to go into this last month!!! Each day I hoped that would be the day and it never was. Cole came two days before my due date - WHAT.... I did not expect that. So yes, I feel your pain, literally it's PAINFUL, but I Hope that all ends soon and you can soon enjoy that baby girl. The fact is, Cole's timing was much better than my own. Good luck.

I think what happens too is we start thinking they'll come early, instead just think about the due date. I know that crazy place we all get in at the end of a pregnancy, like "how is this all gonna go down". You know you will have her in the next week or so, so no worries. She'll be here. Just try to breathe and spoil yourself - eat whatever you want at this point (go out for pancakes or something!). You're almost done!

PS - I've always want to make Jump Start Your Labor Cookies. Who knows if they work - but hey, any excuse to eat cookies. :)

I honestly don't think my babies dropped until I was in labor, I never felt them dropping anyway. I guess even if she stays in she can only stay in that a week or so at the most right? hang in there. you never know, maybe your water will just break tonight or something and voila she'll be here!

From someone who has had 3 c-sections, you don't want one! Major surgery plus recovering from having a baby. No fun!

Beth is right! She's gonna come! It's gonna happen! I hope it happens soon, for your sake! I'm gonna send some vibes your way, Brooke. They'll probably do nothing, but hey, maybe you'll be shocked and you'll start feeling some serious contractions tonight or tomorrow. I hope so!
