Parental Strategy

You know what I love?

When I do the exact opposite of what I'm feeling to do with my kids? Like when a certain child is driving me bonkers, I don't throw her/him out of the house like I'm feeling I want to do, but instead kneel down, give her (or him, but usually her) hug and ask what is wrong....those are good moments. So that is what I'm trying to work on...doing the exact opposite of what I'm feeling I'd like to do. Maybe I need to start chanting it...do the opposite, do the opposite, do the opposite. don't get frustrated. don't get frustrated. don't get frustrated. she's only two she's only two she's only two. patience patience patience patience....do you think its working? Wish me luck, cause I really need it.

Another thing I love?

The Savior loves my kids even more than Jason and I do...and we love them a whole lot. Like mama bear love. Like just try and bully them love. Like don't be mean to my kid or you'll get the wrath of his mother love. But the Savior knows them even better than I do and for longer than I have. This is just great. He loves them when they are having a hard time (having a hard time is code for me being bonkers). I love them when they are having a hard time too by the way. Even more amazing, He chose me to be their mother so just maybe He thinks I will be able to do the job. Here is to hoping.

Sorry to get churchy on you, but sometimes its the churchy things that help me through the day.

It was a perfectly marvelous day actually, its just that bedtime gets a little hairy sometimes. Especially when Jason is home late. Irony is singing Silent Night after you just yelled at your kid to get back in bed for the umpteenth time. "Get back in bed right now!.....Silent Night, Holy Night...All is Calm..." Can you picture it?

On a completely opposite note (since I'm all about the opposites), I think we could eat tacos every single nite of the week. Tacos tacos tacos. We love tacos.

Fingers crossed, I think they are all in bed.

hey well tacos sound good to me, dieting officially stinks. i am like, good thing you less poorly after you diet or it wouldn't be happening, i'm like daydreaming of reasons to break the diet to go to wendy's.

i'm like i think they get someone hungry and are like, what would really make you even more hungry to see on a billboard/tv, daggum people, i'm like, if there were no images of yummy food around, just billboards of diet food and tv commercials of diet food i think it would be easier.

if the billboard was like, how about some water and microwaved rice and brown beans with absolutely no flavor added, i would be like, no thank you, i am not hungry, but when it is like, yummy steak sandwich on a doughy bun with lots of cheese and bacon i am like ok please can i have one now.
