I refuse to come up with a name for this post

So, we went to a pirate birthday party....

at the park for a boy in Darby's preschool class...

There was a stamp in the goody bag for the kids

Baylie liked the stamp.

And it SORT Of washed up. Sort of.

The mouth part at least did and the rest will look really pretty at church tomorrow.

But I made sure to tell the super cute mom of the birthday boy thank you so much for the awesome stamp that Baylie put all over herself in five seconds.... She told me your welcome.

The loot was at the end of a treasure hunt that the kids loved....Luke loved that he could read the clues which is very cool.

Turns out that the dad of Darby's preschool friend went to high school with Jason...

The mom of the boy in Darby's class knows some people I do from when I was in 6th grade.

The world is very small....

Other highs of the day....

We attended a free kids class at Lowes where my kids used their carpenter skills and built something.... found out about it cause my sister (really it was my mom who was visiting my sister in B-ham) said, "Quick go to Lowes there is a free class today that ends at 11!" So we whipped our butts over there to check it out. Squeezed in the class even though we hadn't registered. Very cute to see the kids with their little hammers, goggles and aprons on. And very loud.

Did I mention that I LOVE where I live. Cause while we were at the Lowes class (Lowes...its so close to me and I'm friends with lots of their employees who have helped at the emotional decisions I have like wall colors, blind selection and dishwashers)...I met a girl with almost four kids (one in womb) whose kids were closer together in age than mine and ....SHE WASN'T EVEN MORMON! And she was young and cute and didn't have a nanny with her!

and her mom was there who was the cutest Nana ever (like mine) who had EIGHT KIDS AND SHE WASN'T MORMON EITHER. (and really it was nine kids, but one passed away just like in Jason's family so I told her about her long lost sister Janet McCoy in Washington) Okay, so I didn't actually ask them if they were Mormon, but the Nana had a nose piercing so thats my hunch. And we chatted forever about our similar lives (her oldest was a five year old boy and then she had two girls) and she told me all these fun things about the area and DID I MENTION HOW MUCH I LOVE WHERE I LIVE WHERE YOU CAN JUST CHAT WITH FAMILIES AT LOWES WHO ARE SO CUTE. AND THEN WE RAN INTO MORMONS AT LOWES TOO!

This place is so suburbia and family friendly I can't even believe it, but we are still the same distance from Jason's work in Hollywood and close to enough to the beach and other things about Los Angeles that I love. And earlier in the week I met the cutest girl who was at the park with kids my age but then she said she had two older ones too which means she had four kids and SHE WASN'T MORMON EITHER...how crazy cool is this place? Its like a kid making factory! Sheesh! Here I thought I was original....

Oh ya, and when we went to the birthday party at the park today at 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday we were the only ones at the park! ...If you live in the San Fernando Valley can you just freak out with me a little bit here, NOBODY at the park besides us (wait until some people people from our church happened to go there) at 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday. That is just crazy. A new, clean park with no homeless people there. What is this place? LA parks are jam packed on Saturdays! Its like the cool place to be the park. You have to wait in line to get a freaking swing... Strange amazing place this Santa Clarita is...I am in love.

We finished the nite off with take out from the Habit tonite...our favorite restaurant out here that is very close to our house. While munching on the onion rings with ranch and BBQ chicken salad with bacon, my cute pregnant neighbor (with soon to be four kids, but she IS mormon) came and brought me a jar of Nutella, which is the most delicious substance in the world and might just prevent me from ever fitting into my pants again. Just cause she likes me. Isn't that nice? Just all around a swell day.

Oh Baylie!! Those are some awesome pictures of her!! Wow. Can't help but laugh, poor girl!
Love that you love Santa Clarita and that everyone is having 4 kids--maybe someday I can do it. We will see. Go Luke for reading the clues! And I cannot believe you ran into someone from Jason's high school! And I am guessing from Santee?? Crazy.
Anyways, I think there is nothing better than suburbia. Anyone with kids that moves from LA to suburbia definitely appreciates it. xo. So glad you posted those picts!

Oh you're so cute! And I love that you love it up here. Cuz for a long time I was the only one that loved it up here and was always trying to convince everyone how great it is up here. So it's nice to have some moral support.

And I met a lady with 7 kids the other day that reminded me of the mom on "18 kids and counting" and she saw me with my kids and immediately asked which church I went to. I told her I was Mormon. And she said, well, I knew you had to either be Mormon or Catholic. Pretty funny!

funny.
i saw on a cooking site a recipe for making your own nutella (not that i ever would) but i will have to find it for you now. it looks yummy and is healthier, and if you like it a little chunkier than you have the option.
you are a good mom to take your kids out so much.

Baylie looks beautiful! Glad you got to do the Lowes thing. I really like where you live too!

Maybe Baylie wanted to be a Dalmation for Halloween. Stamps are dangerous even for Darby's age.

That is hilarious about Baylie. I am so glad you got to go to the Lowes class. They are so fun. Home Depot does them as well. They are so cute. They are loud though. That is why Carl takes them.
