Twice

We did it again. Doubly learned. It took a long time.

We stop for hard words to explain. Just ask my kids what an epistle is. Or what happens to the Nephites or Jaredites when they stop being righteous.

Darby's favorite thing was saying, 'And it came to pass...' They sure say that a lot.

Long time in the process. Every morning for breakfast. Sometimes my tummy is growling, but glad we did it. Jason and I take turns. We are all very proud of ourselves.

We get very animated to keep there attention, and sometimes have to use hands to describe where all the fighting is going on. Especially when you are competing with them listening to you or looking at the back of a cereal box. Very animated indeed.

Learned more this time reading with my kids then I've ever learned in my life. Seriously.

Thank you whoever invented this family Book of Mormon with the pictures and definition included. There is truth in this book. Thank you to Joseph Smith for translating it and being faithful. There is no way you could make that up. For all the prophets who declared repentance even when they were the only ones left. Thank you Mormon and Moroni.

Jesus did visit the America's after His resurrection.

2 Nephi 25:26

"And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophesies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."

Its true. And it is amazing.

Later addition: You know I went to early morning seminary all through high school...at 5:45 a.m. five days a week (half asleep sometimes). Attended four years at Brigham Young University which essential requires a minor in religion. I am not a convert and have very faithful parents who read to me during breakfast all growing up. I have read the Book of Mormon many times prior to this, after all I'm 30 and have gone to church every Sunday my whole life...

But isn't it ironic...or very profound, that the time when I get THE ABSOLUTE MOST out of the Book of Mormon is when I'm reading it to my kids. Maybe its because I have to break it down to a four year old level? Maybe because the gospel is that simple. Maybe because I love them and I am really wanting them to get it? Maybe because the teacher learns more than the student? Maybe because saying it out loud and makes you go slower? Just been thinking.

I'll have to ask Jason what he thinks. Now granted he spent two years as a missionary in the Canary Islands so maybe you can't learn more than then.

Awesome quote from Luke after this picture which he had to show the pages.

"How about we see if we can't read it a third time."

Hmmm..

Maybe we'll start with the New Testament tomorrow.
