Yahoo! Voting Day is Over!

We had some voting spirit over here...

And have some mighty good looking models here. Minus the 'spaghetti leg' child of mine. Which means she refuses to do lots of stuff and goes all spaghetti leg on you so she can't go anywhere and be very uncooperative. So she missed out on the festive hat and glasses pictures. But Baylie was all over it.

I feel better today. Prop 8 passed. I can't believe it. I haven't ever been that invested in a proposition.

Here is my favorite quote from the LA times " Most of the state's highest-profile political leaders -- including both U.S. senators and the mayors of San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles -- along with the editorial pages of most major newspapers, opposed the measure. PG&E, Apple and other companies contributed money to fight the proposition, and the heads of Silicon Valley companies including Google and Yahoo took out a newspaper ad opposing it. "

That makes it even awesomer--yes its a real word--that prop 8 passed. Not to mention the bazillion NO tv ads I saw in the last few days. Amended the state constitution. Along with all the facts of LA County being the largest county in the nation and being more populated than 40 states with over 3 million voting for and against prop 8. Not to mention the $74 million spent making it the most expensive proposition ever. Makes for an awesomer win. Now we need to all sing Coom Bye ya together to move forward...does anyone know how to spell Koom By Ya?

I didn't do anything to help McCain win except give him my vote, so I can't really complain about him losing. And he wasn't going to make it more than one term. My guy didn't win and the whole country is now bluer and than blue, but its all done now. Here are the ramblings and thoughts that have been passing around our house.

- Wahoo for voter turnout.

- America is amazing. Look what can happen in one hundred years. I mean Rosa Parks to Barack Obama...freaking ridiculous that the people could be so backward and cruel then. Can I still be super excited as a white girl? Shoot even ten years ago I didn't think there would be an African American president. Although I would have preferred Condoleezza Rice....

- It was cool to see all the people in Grant park yesterday. Even though yesterday I wasn't too happy about it...and didn't even watch the victory speech. I'll have plenty of time to hear all about it I'm sure. Now I'm glad someone's happy. And they sure seemed happy over there. But I'm not going to scrapbook it or anything. I think the Obama camp had their hearts into it more... grassroots is where its at.

- It was cool to see all my international neighbors at the voting booth.

- How is that newly elected President Obama going to turn the country into shangri-la like he has been promising? I'm tired of words and ready for action. Here's your chance to prove me wrong.

- Here's to Mitt debating Obama in 2012!

I'm sure no ones going to check my blog anymore, but its really for me anyway. Blogger is my imaginary friend. I will divert soon from exclusive talks on mormonism, marriage and my republican self (that usually is moderate, but is polarized during elections!).

I'm just glad there are no more political commercials on TV. It's bad enough that it's the only thing they talk about on the news, but to have to hear it during commercials too. I'm sick of all things political.

Love your random and yet very true thoughts Brooke! I had a very looong involved back and forth on facebook with a very liberal high school friend about prop 8. It started out a little heated but ended really well. I too, am so glad it passed even though I don't think the debate is over...
